Carpe Diem Poem - Salt

Carpe Diem Poem – Salt

Salt is a carpe diem poem, a reflection on relinquishing control and allowing time’s passing and bursting growth.

Salt – A Carpe Diem Poem

Wishing away the shrinking moon
you trap the tide and chase away
the pause of

silence.

You gag the tick
you flag the tock.

Ironing wrinkles upon the ground
you prune the tree and push away
the breathless

sunshine.

You don't grab the tick
you don't catch the tock.

Dodging bullets heading your way
you blank the surf and burn away
the fortune

cookie.But

the clock ticks
the clock tocks.

Fraying away the choking clench
the moon fattens and gives way to
the pulse of salt.
