Christmas Meaning – It’s About Love

Steering clear off the commercialism of Christmas is difficult. Truth be told, thousands of people don’t even like Christmas. In fact, they dread it. And now that in many parts of the world, Christmas is referred to as the holidays, let’s bring to mind the Christmas meaning.

Christians celebrate the birth of Christ who stood – above all – for love:

30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’[a] 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b] There is no commandment greater than these.”

New International Version (NIV)

Although many different world religions exist, it is difficult to argue with the importance and groundbreaking power of love, the true Christmas meaning. Love doesn’t do barriers or division between people of different colour, creed, and status.

Finding Comfort and Christmas Meaning

If you’re one of the people who hate Christmas, travel to the infinity of your heart. There, you will find love, peace, and comfort. Christ wasn’t born in a palace. Instead, he had the humblest of beginnings. Throughout his life, he favoured the outcast, unpopular, needy, broken, poor, and lonely.

Christmas Meaning – The Beautiful Words of John 1

This is how Christ’s birth is described in the New Testament.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome[a] it.

John 1 New International Version (NIV)

So, the true Christmas meaning is the emergence of the unexstinguishable light and of love itself.
