Friendship Poetry - We Are

Friendship Poetry – We Are

We Are is my contribution to friendship poetry, a celebration of its necessity and immeasurable value, highlighting the unconditionality, consistency, and continuity of true friendship.

We Are – Friendship Poetry

 We are
The roaming
Ocean, always
Holding a trillion
Grains of salt.
We are the sea
Above soil and
Below rainy skies
Spanning beyond
The nets we’re
Spreading. Yesterday
We handed out tissues
Today a book of flesh
And tomorrow
We will be,
Still.
We have
No gavel or robe.
This is how we are:
A present present
To each other
Talking
Listening
Glueing
Shrapnel
Popping
Prosecco
Anytime
Anyone
Bursts or
Busts.
We are
The coarse bread of
Whole flour
Grit-ground and
Inflated with
Yeast
Sugar and
The salt of the ocean
We are.
