salt

Funny how I can rule the world
yet fail to tie my shoelaces every day.
My fingers will not do what I long them too

and yet I can tilt my head and make it rain,
flick my hair and plunge the stock markets.
I can even tie everyone else's but whatever it is

about the angles,
the timing,
the mechanics of crossing them,

tightening them evenly without strangling my feet,
it is beyond me.
My back hurts as a result

my feet forever off kilter
my speech marred
my calculations

rarely right.
One does find hacks
find ways to conceal ineptitudes

learns to lie
masters pretending
and having a swagger

when really
you are drowning.
Only for the salt

I would perish at sea
her
him

it
us
them
